Guided by the principle of Tikkun Olam – taking action to make the world more just, peaceful, tolerant, and equal, through acts of charity, kindness, and political action – Bess is a fierce advocate for social change and endorses many causes. Through Helping Hands at Brown Harris Stevens, the firm’s charitable arm, she has helped raise funds, awareness and supplies for NYC’s homeless. She is a longtime supporter of The Kalief Browder Foundation, The Human Rights Campaign, Equal Justice Initiative, Young Jewish Professionals, and The Leadership Now Project. Bess is also a member of numerous boards including The Real Estate Board of New York Board of Governors and The Bridge, an organization focused on the needs of the homeless and housing-insecure.
